Item Description
Each is a 1-1/8" litho. w/reverse text "Factory/No. 50/2nd District/New York". Both Hassen and Sweet Caporal cigarettes were made at this factory but we don't know the issuer of these. In 1984, Hake/Levin's Buttons In Sets listed 48 different which held for decades but this consigned collection adds two more. These read "I Love Your Expression" and there is a second variety of "I've Got Your Number". The named cartoonists are Thomas Dorgan (TAD), Bud Fisher of Mutt & Jeff fame and the iconic Rube Goldberg. Two buttons show cartoon African Americans and one shows Theodore Roosevelt with his "Bull  Moose". 5 VG, 10 Fine, 19 Exc., 16 NM. Only set of 50 known to us.
