Item Description
Post's had such success with their 12 ring 1948 set (see next lot) that they repeated the idea in 1949 with 24 new characters. These 14 were folded and are now unfolded with small metal creases: Alexander, Blondie, Casper, Felix, Flash Gordon, Hans, Jiggs, Mac, Mama, Olive Oyl, The Phantom, Snuffy Smith, Toots, Wimpy. These ten were not folded but do have scattered paint wear: Captain, Dagwood, Fritz, Henry, Inspector, Little King, Maggie, Popeye, Swee' Pea, Tillie. A few VG with most Fine to Exc. Rarely offered as a set.
