Item Description
This is the largest, most graphic and colorful early automobile button known to us. It is 2.25" with concave metal back and fixed horizontal bar pin. There is no maker's name. There are three 1/16" craze lines that can be seen and we see just two more even smaller and microscopic. The visible ones are above her outstretched arm and one at tip of the wreath she holds. We know that "Henry H. Van Brunt. Vehicles. Best On Globe" had businesses in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He sold carriages, wagons and by 1909 was an Overland auto dealer. Full color and full gloss. No stain. Overall VF, but as it's only our third in our 57 years, likely un-improvable. Rare.
