Item Description
7/8" w/Western Badge & Novelty Co. back paper. Since the 1886 days of the Haymarket Massacre and even as far back as 1836, the goal of an eight hour day was cherished by labor. In 1912, TR's Progressive Party included an 8 Hour Day platform plank. We don't know if this rare Wilson button dates from then or from 1916 when the issue was still causing strikes nationwide. Only light wear in reflected light. Exc. Wayne Otchis Collection.
