Item Description
13x19" framed w/11x17" opening. Event dated September 21, 1888. Striking portraits of the 1888 Democratic ticket. Additional text below the date reads "The meeting will be addressed by Prof. Carl Leitwinne in German, and Jno. H. Doyle and others in English". A few small areas of loss, most notably just below the "E" in "Doyle" along extreme edge. Otherwise some even aging w/moderate handling wear and a few light scattered stains. Fine. Not examined outside of frame. A scarce single-day event from Cleveland's unsuccessful campaign for re-election.
