Item Description
10x14.25" thick artboard has mixed media original art by prolific and renowned Spanish comics cover artist Rafael López Espí. Cover is for Special Edition: Martial Arts Vol. 1 #45, which reprints Shang-Chi/Iron Fist story from issue Master of Kung Fu Annual#1. Published in Spain by Mundi, c. late 1970s. Artboard has been hand-painted from edge to edge w/same layout from the US issue cover Annual #1 by Rich Buckler. Image has Shang-Chi and Iron Fist versus Quan St'ar from S'ahra-Sharn the evil mirror image of K'un Lun. Artboard has lt. aging/handling wear but art remains bright and clean. Includes 8.5x9.5" vellum overlay sheet w/text layout, not attached to board. Exc. A wonderful example from the era when Espí's art dominated covers of Spanish comic books, featuring one of Marvel's popular characters. Superb and dynamic cover art. Comes w/reading copy of the Spanish comic this cover art was created for.
