Item Description
One of two designs produced by Ostby & Barton of Rhode Island in 1941 and offered as a premium for the "Superman Defense Club" dairy program, costing two bottle caps and 10¢. This ring was produced in two distinct versions; one w/Superman paper sticker on underside of removable top and no Superman image on the top and the variety offered here, w/raised Superman image on the snap off ring top. Superman is shown from the waist up, breaking chains w/diagonal lightning bolt above his image and "S" letter on the upper left of the snap off top. Sides of ring show a star and planet. Ring bands are nicely formed w/o notable bends. Most luster is worn off the adjustable band but much bright luster remains on the side designs and top. VF overall. Only about a dozen or so examples of this ring variety are known. A rare and desirable premium ring.
