Item Description
This ring was offered briefly during the 1934 introductory year of the Popular Publications pulp titled Secret Service Operator #5. The pulp ran for 48 issues from April 1934 to Nov. 1939. Metal w/non-adjustable band that has silver luster while top is stark black and white enamel w/skull that has a "5" on forehead. Inner band has barely visible symbol of the ring maker Uncas. It does not say "Made In U.S.A." which was added to rings intended for Canadian distribution. Most luster is gone save for some highlights on the recessed designs of the band. Scattered enamel flaking/chipping but most of this is only seen upon close inspection. Still a VG example of a rare and sought after ring.
