Item Description
From same set as previous lot. Depicted here is Larry Gardner, the Boston Red Sox third baseman during the 1916 season. Gardner finished his career with a very respectable .289 batting average and just under 2,000 hits and 1,000 RBI's over his 17 seasons with Boston (AL), Cleveland and Philadelphia (AL). These scarce Ware's advertising backs typically carry a multiple-times premium over the more common blank-back version and would make a terrific addition to any type-card collection.
