Item Description
.75" enameled metal w/threaded post and clutch which has maker's name of Whitehead & Hoag. Keystone shaped, a symbol of the state of PA. Center has crossed bats and baseball. Pin notes "Forbes Field." The 1925 Pirates won the NL pennant w/a record of 95-58 under future Hall of Fame manager Bill McKechnie. The team's offense was led that season by the future Hall of Fame trio of Max Carey, Kiki Cuyler and Pie Traynor. Pittsburgh would go on to win the World Series in seven exciting games over the Washington Senators. Tiny traces of wear including a few minute enamel nicks but all only seen upon magnification. Remains glossy w/nice luster. VF. A desirable press pin.
