Item Description
Approx. 8.5x11" single-sided letter features profile portrait of Captain Marvel along w/images of Fawcett Comics from 1944 and features "Christmas Greetings From Captain Marvel" text. Letter mentions enclosed "Comic Stamps" as well as items available for purchase, including Capt. Marvel necktie, Capt. Marvel skull cap and Capt. Marvel sweater emblem. Letter also promoted purchases of War Stamps and Bonds. Left margin has slight uneven trim and left/right margins show wear. Fine overall. Rare. Comes w/complete and unused 7x8" perforated sheet of stamps w/gummed backs. c. 1940s. ©Fawcett Publications, Inc. Text at top refers to Fawcett comic books. Each stamp measures 1.25x1.75" and includes - Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr., Mary Marvel, Hoppy the Marvel Bunny, Billy Batson, Captain Midnight, Spy Smasher, Bulletman, Bulletgirl, Hopalong Cassidy and others.
