Item Description
12x17" artboard has attached 9-1/8x15" assemblage, consisting of custom made film strip frame containing three and a half "frames," showing progression of movement of Steve Ditko's hard boiled detective/superhero The Question, who is seen punching towards viewer. Art is cover to The Question Quarterly #3, published by DC Comics in Aug. 1991. Mixed media original art is by Denys Cowan (noted for reinvigorating the character alongside writer Denny O'Neil in the late 1980s) and Noelle Giddings. Both have signed at lower right, w/Giddings adding her full name at bottom right, below art. Of note, art was slightly tilted to side for final publication, trimming some of the film strip design at left/right. Paper overlay attached at top has abbreviated title, issue number and month of publication along w/the name of that issue's writer (O'Neil), penciler (Joe Quesada) and inkers (Bruce N. Solotoff and Mickey Ritter). Some lt. ghosting from inked filmstrip design on overlay, but o/w art is clean and Exc.
