The 1948 Boston Braves were winners of the National League pennant with a record of 91-62 under National Baseball Hall of Fame manager Billy Southworth. The Braves were led offensively by third baseman, Bob Elliott and on the mound by future Hall of Fame hurler Warren Spahn. Boston would go on to lose the 1948 World Series to the Cleveland Indians of the American League.
