Item Description
5/8" enameled metal w/bar pin on reverse. At center is celluloid dome designed as a baseball w/word "Official" at center. Raised text on the metal rim is "New York Yankees." Attached to the main pin is a metal chain w/small stickpin that has die-cut metal numerals for year of "41." A very neat design. Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection.

The 1941 New York Yankees won the American League pennant with a record of 101-53 under National Baseball Hall of Fame manager Joe McCarthy. The offense was led by a quartet of future HOF'ers: Joe DiMaggio, Bill Dickey, Joe Gordon and Phil Rizzuto. The mound corps was led by Lefty Gomez and Red Ruffing. The Yankees would go on to defeat the Brooklyn Dodgers, 4 games to 1, to win the 1941 World Series.
