Item Description
1.75". No maker. Spring pin holds ribbon, metal fob w/raised image of a batter at home plate w/incoming ball, chain w/celluloid figure of pitcher winding up. Ribbon has text in gold, some worn but all still legible "World Series New York Yankees Vs. Brooklyn Dodgers At Yankee Stadium." Ribbon Fine, cello figure VF w/few tiny indents, button and fob are Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection.

The 1941 New York Yankees won the American League pennant with a record of 101-53 under National Baseball Hall of Fame manager Joe McCarthy. The offense was led by a quartet of future HOF'ers: Joe DiMaggio, Bill Dickey, Joe Gordon and Phil Rizzuto. The mound corps was led by Lefty Gomez and Red Ruffing. The Yankees would go on to defeat the Brooklyn Dodgers, 4 games to 1, to win the 1941 World Series.
