The 1950 Philadelphia Phillies, aka the "Whiz Kids" won the National League pennant with a record of 91-63 under manager Eddie Sawyer. The offense was led by future National Baseball Hall of Famer Richie Ashburn, while the pitching staff was led by fellow Cooperstown selectee Robin Roberts.
