The 1907 Detroit Tigers ball club stormed through the American League season, finishing in first place with a record of 92-58 under National Baseball Hall of Fame player/manager Hughie Jennings. Leading the offense for the mighty Tigers was a pair of future Hall of Fame outfielders, Ty Cobb and Sam Crawford. 1907 marked Cobb's first full season in the big leagues after abbreviated appearances in 1905-06. Cobb would win his first of a record 12 American League batting titles with an average of .350. Detroit would go on to lose the World Series to the Chicago Cubs in five games.
