The 60th edition of the World Series was held in 1963. It was a best-of-seven playoff that matched the American League champion and two-time defending World Series champion New York Yankees against the National League champion Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers swept the series in four games to secure their second championship title in five years, and their third in franchise history.
