Item Description
Please note the size of this button is 2-3/16". A more commonly seen variety is 3.5" and there is also a slightly later issue that includes MLB logos on right/left rim edges. The version we are offering here is a much rarer, and to many, little known variety. No maker indicated. Great photo at center of Mays in Giants uniform. Most silver luster off metal back. Front remains bright and glossy. Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.

Widely regarded as the greatest all-around player that the game has ever seen, Mays finished w/a career batting average of .302 along w/660 home runs, 1,903 RBI's and 338 stolen bases. Willie was also selected as the NL's Rookie of the Year in 1951, NL MVP  in 1954 and 1965 and was a 24-time All-Star. A member of both the MLB All-Century and MLB All-Time teams. Inducted in the National Baseball HOF in 1979.
