Item Description
1.75". No maker. Spring pin holds ribbons, metal chain w/metal baseball and plastic bat charms. Ball is marked "Giants" and as was often the case, button manufacturer used what was readily available vs. trying to always match up with the correct team. Button has classic image of pirate wearing eye patch and earring and holds a knife in his mouth (same image as next lot) with this one in team colors of yellow/black. Bright and glossy. Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.

The 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates won the National League pennant with a final record of 95-59 under manager Danny Murtaugh. The offense and defense were both led by two future National Baseball Hall of Fame electees, Roberto Clemente and Bill Mazeroski. The Bucs would go on to win the 1960 World Series over the New York Yankees in seven thrilling games.
