Item Description
7.5x10" layout bond has pencil drawing of the Phantom summoning forth the power of ten tigers by fan favorite Fred Fredericks (1929-2015) who was an American cartoonist who drew the Mandrake the Magician comic strip from June 1965. Creator Lee Falk modernized the comic when Fredericks took over the strip, making it more reality-based by focusing less on science fiction and fantasy, and making Mandrake operate more like a secret agent. Fredericks is also well known for inking The Phantom Sunday strips 1995 to 2000. Signed at bottom right in pen. Lt. aging/wear. Some lt. creasing at upper left corner. Attached at top to mat and backing paper. VF. Ed Rhoades Collection.
