James Edward "Pete" Runnels  was an American professional baseball player, coach and manager. He played in Major League Baseball as an infielder for the Washington Senators (1951-57), Boston Red Sox (1958-62) and Houston Colt .45s (1963-64). Some career highlights include being a five time All-Star and a two time AL batting champion. Pete Runnels is in the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame.
