Item Description
1.25" with covered tin back, vertical pin and text "High Admiral Cigarettes Yellow Kid Flag Collection." This ground-breaking newspaper comic character appeared on buttons #1-94 in 1896 and then in 1897-98 appears on buttons 101 through 160 all picturing him with a flag. The flags are mostly from various countries but the designers slipped in a just three non-geographic flags: 142 a pirate skull and crossbones flag, 143 an auctioneer's red "Auction" flag and this Red Cross flag. He also wears a red cross arm band and his nightshirt reads "We Will Fix You Alrite We Ain't So Cross." Side edge at at 3 is missing 1/8" square piece of cello and paper but from the front just a speck of loss is showing and all else is glossy and Exc.
