Item Description
11.25x16.5" art board has detailed pencil and pen 9 panel Sunday strip of the Phantom being threaten by imposing invaders and fighting back. Pencils by George Olesen (1924-2013), an American comic book artist best known for his work as a penciller on popular comic strip The Phantom. He worked w/the character for nearly 40 years, although he did not get any official credit for it until penciller Sy Barry retired and Keith Williams took over as the new inker. ©1998 KFS. Signed at bottom margins by inker Fred Fredericks, who provided art for The Phantom Sunday pages. Lt. aging/wear. Second panel has an art paste-over. Still Exc. Ed Rhoades Collection.
