Item Description
15-1/8x20" artboard features original art oil painting by Ken Barr (1933-2016), a Scottish artist who drew and painted for DC and Marvel Comics, Doc Savage magazine covers, as well as providing the art for sci-fi and fantasy novels and magazine covers. Cover art was for the 1979 Belmont Tower edition of Patrick Clay's World War II novel set in the Pacific Theater and features Sgt. Hawk blasting his machine gun from darkened jungle. Figure bears a striking likeness to Clint Eastwood. Barr has signed at lower right. Back of board has large book title and scattered notations. Board has some scattered corner tip/edge wear, but could be framed for an Exc. display.
