Item Description
22 buttons and a portfolio w/16 prints. Portfolio excerpted from a 1970 publication called "A Summer Sketchbook". Cover of portfolio reads "David Levine's Choice: The Artists's Favorite Drawings From The New York Book Reviews." Both the prints and the buttons feature political leaders of the era, including Lyndon Johnson, Robert F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Dwight Eisenhower, and Hubert Humphrey, as well as historical figures and figures in popular culture like Picasso, Oscar Wilde, Mao Zedong, Albert Einstein, Friedrich Nietzsche, and others. Many of the designs and sketches pertain to the Vietnam War and the negative effects it had on the Johnson and Nixon Administrations. Portfolio folder has tear along the bottom edge of the spine and well as moderate handling. Prints in portfolio have only light wear. Folder is Fine, while prints are Exc. Buttons have some scattered staining, spotting, and crimping flows along the edges. Buttons range from Fine to Exc. w/most VF or better. An instant collection of featuring the artwork and social commentary of one of the most significant caricaturists of the 20th century.
