Item Description
14x28" on cardboard w/"Posters Inc" credit at bottom center. Promoting two concerts on "Friday Apr. 19" at "Mayser's Gym Franklin & Marshall College". Featuring image of band including Grace Slick at top left. Scattered damp staining, most notably a vertical strip affecting the top two thirds of the poster. Horizontal creasing and edge/corner tip wear. VG. The Airplane were major leaders in the Summer of Love helping pioneer psychedelic rock. They are the only band to play at all three of the era's touchstone rock festival events, Monterey Pop, Woodstock & Altamont, and also performed sets at the Human Be-In and the first Isle of Wright. A portfolio rivaling even their most iconic peers during the era. A little more than two months after this show (June 28, 1968) the band was featured as the cover story of Life Magazine. This rare boxing style poster is the only surviving example known to us.
