Item Description
8x10x1.5" deep box contains set of four complete war insignia stamp albums. ©1942 Robert Lash Robbins Postamp Pub. Co. Each album is 7.5x10.5". Vol. 1 has 12 pages while Vols. 2-4 have 16 pages. Each is designed to hold 50 different full color gummed stamps featuring insignia and all are complete w/unused sheets of stamps still intact. Box lid features insignia stamp designs plus paper label detailing what is included w/set, mentioning "Designs Are By Walt Disney, Walter Lantz, Pat Sullivan, George McManus And Other Famous Artists." Store price sticker on underside of box. Box has several small tears/splits to side panels and corners w/archival tape repair to bottom center edge of lid. 5" side panel piece missing from box bottom. Box o/w remains clean, bright and is VG/Fine overall. Stamps feature Disney characters such as Dumbo, Baby Pegasus, Little Hiawatha, Donald Duck, Jiminy Cricket, Goofy, Pluto and others while non-Disney characters include Felix the Cat, Woody Woodpecker, Andy Panda, etc. Album Vol. 2 has single Jiggs stamp placed in appropriate space as issued (each volume has 50 corresponding stamps, and each unused stamp sheet includes 50 stamps for total of 201 stamps), o/w unused. Album Vol . 4 has 4" tear to front cover at lower left. Albums are evenly aged and have some pinch creases to spines. VG to VF overall. Stamps are Exc. These boxed sets are rare - this is one of the few examples we've offered in our 57 years - and is more rare w/full sheets of unused stamps.
