15.5x21.5" artpaper features pen and ink (w/correctional fluid touch-ups) original art for page 32 from Chinese Hero: Tales of the Blood Sword #41, published by Jademan Comics in 1984. Art is by renowned Hong Kong manhua (Chinese comic) artist Ma Wing-shing. Art features seven panels and shows dynamic, action-packed martial arts battle on a frozen lake. A monumental title for the medium, the artwork and drawing style of Chinese Hero was highly influential in defining the modern characteristics of manhua, known for its high level of detail, realistic style, clear-cut action scenes and engaging plot. The series is highly regarded among Chinese collectors as one of the most important Chinese comic titles of the 1980s. All word balloons, caption blocks and sound effects are in Chinese and are pasted stats. Art paper is comprised of two sheets taped together on back, w/tape staining clearly visible. Horizontal fold at center w/moderate handling wear and scattered aging/staining. VG/Fine overall. Comes w/reading copy of the comic this art was created for. Rare.
