PLEASE NOTE - RING CONDITION IS AS DESCRIBED. WHAT YOU SEE IN OUR PHOTO (ESPECIALLY IF ENLARGED) IS NOT WHAT IS SEEN BY THE NAKED EYE. THE HIGH QUALITY OF THE PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGE AMPLIFIES EVEN THE MOST MINOR IMPERFECTION. LOOKING AT THE ITEM IN PERSON AND UNDER NORMAL VIEWING CONDITIONS, LITTLE TO NONE OF THIS IS EVIDENT. WHEN WE GIVE A RING LIKE THIS A HIGH GRADE, THAT IS THE ACCURATE GRADE AND A MORE TRUE ACCOUNT OF THE ITEM AS SEEN IN THE CATALOG PHOTO.
This is one of only three examples we've seen of this ring in our 57 years. The first example surfaced in the late 1960s. Narrow brass expandable band. The ring top is a brass plate with four brass tabs holding a plastic cover over profile portrait of Buck without a dot pattern w/text at lower left. There are two different versions of the text. This version reads "Howdy Earth Folks/Best Regards/Buck/Rogers." The other we have seen omits "Best Regards" and is replaced by "Dick Caulkins." We've never seen any paperwork documenting this ring and the possibility exists it could be a fantasy creation but as we've seen three examples in total, we think it is more likely a prototype.
