Item Description
Kit No. 423-98. ©1961 Universal Pictures Co., Inc. This is a first issue monster kit w/1.5" thick box that was changed later to 2" thick (see following lot) matching the other kits in the series. The kit itself also incorrectly has raised "Aurora Plastics Corp. 1961" on model's base which was corrected to include Universal name on later issues. Shrinkwrap has been removed w/piece of aged masking tape added at center left/right (which has been neatly cut). Box has some lt. corner tip wear to lid and some minor corner creases to bottom. Fine/VF overall. Model is complete w/instructions and w/a few pieces on sprues but most pieces have come loose from sprues and are o/w unused and Exc. Scarce early issue. Janusey Brothers Collection.
