Item Description
9.5" dia. Transfers feature profile of Washington w/text "His Excellency General Washington Commander in Chief of the Forces of the United States of America & President of the Congress" below. Other side has Franklin w/text "Benj. Franklin L.L.D. F.R.S Born at Boston in New England 17 Jan. 1706". Interior of bowl shows Naval battle scene of the "American Frigate Constellation" engaged w/French frigate, L'Insurgente on February 9, 1799, off Saint Kitts and Nevis Island, West Indies during the Quasi-War w/France. Cleaning and restoration to repair edge wear and cracks w/touch ups of transfers most notably to the word "Congress" under Washington and affecting text on interior. Displays VF.
