Item Description
11.5x15" spiral-bound eight-page book issued to promote Quaker Puffed Rice/Wheat Sparkies cereals' 1941 campaign designed to tie Little Orphan Annie to the war effort, utilizing both her and Captain Sparks, both of whom are pictured within. Unfortunately the program was canceled in 1942 and the campaign never really took off. Premiums issued 1941-1942 are now scarce. First page introduces Annie and supporting characters as well as Captain Sparks and booklet goes on to note "The Adventures Of Little Orphan Annie" radio program and advertising opportunities as well as Secret Guard club kit. Lt. aging and scattered handling wear. Small tears to cover at top left/right by spiral binding. Fine overall. An incredibly rare and detailed retailer's promotional item. From the Gold Premium Archives. This is the only known example and is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
