Item Description
9.75x10.5" frame contains 6.75x7.5" thin artboard w/5.75" dia. design featuring pen and ink/watercolor original art by Little Orphan Annie creator Harold Gray (1894-1968). Art shows classic smiling image of Little Orphan Annie that was utilized for buttons, which were produced w/several versions of rim text including promotions for macaroni, sweaters and ice cream. Handwritten notation below art notes Parisian Novelty Company, who produced these classic 1930s buttons. Art has some lt. even aging and scattered dust soiling, but art remains clean and bright and makes for wonderful display as professionally and attractively double-matted and framed. From the Parisian Novelty Co. of Chicago archives. Button original art from this era is rarely seen, let alone for an A-list comic character like Little Orphan Annie.
