Item Description
Mannequin display has overall height of 76" used to display costume and foam facial appliances as they appeared in Ron Howard's 2000 live action adaptation of Dr. Seuss' classic holiday tale How The Grinch Stole Christmas, starring Jim Carrey in the titular role. Display includes Santa Claus coat (red terry cloth with white faux fur trim; a hidden zipper on back) with matching hat and boots, wide leather belt with large metal buckle and spandex pants featuring hand-punched faux fur with separate faux fur codpiece that snaps into pants. The elastic waistband has fasteners used to connect to an undersuit the performer would wear and the pants have some foam padding to interior. The boots feature a classic curled toe design, accentuated with a metal jingle bell at the tip of each. Boots tips have been stuffed with cotton and fasten with velcro at heel. Of note, the inside of coat features a custom made label from the film's costumer - John David Ridge - that bears printed "Mr. Jim Carrey" name as well as handwritten "C. O'Hara - Hero", a reference to Carrey's ski scene stunt double Chris O'Hara. The leather belt also features a John David Ridge label bearing Carrey's name. The fully painted head was constructed from a biscuit foam head cast and has had foam appliances applied with glue, blended and painted to fully complete the cantankerous visage of The Grinch as he appeared in the beloved 2000 film. Some lt. wear to costume and some scattered minor restoration to bust, still makes for an impressive display.
