Item Description
The 1957 Topps baseball set marked the first time that the company would issue what has now become the standard baseball card size of 2.5x3.5". A total of 407 cards comprise this year's series w/actual color photographs utilized for the first time, replacing hand-colored bw images. This issue also marked a notable increase in multi-player cards as well as the inaugural appearance of player statistics on card backs. The offered example here is from the scarcest series, the semi-high numbers, and also represents the rookie card of the "Human Vacuum Cleaner", Brooks Robinson, long-time third base star for the Baltimore Orioles. Inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1983.
