Item Description
Famed aviator Charles Lindbergh (1902-1974), is best-known for making the first nonstop flight from New York City to Paris on May 20-21, 1927 but later in life he served as a consultant to the Chief of Staff of the US Air Force and to Pan American World Airways. Lindbergh wrote prolifically over the years on topics including aviation, science, technology, nationalism, war, materialism and values. Offered here is a 5-3/8x7.5" hardcover w/56 pages of his 1948 book Of Flight And Life, published by Charles Scribner's Sons. Inside front cover has pasted title page and Lindbergh has inscribed and signed facing, actual title in black ink, inscribing "To Jack Wheeler - With Best Wishes From Charles A. Lindbergh - August 1948." Book shows some scattered wear, w/moderate wear to gilt lettering on spine. Pages have evenly aged to cream in color. Fine/VF overall, but inscription/signature displays Exc. Comes w/JSA LOA.
