Item Description
On March 1, 1932, the 20-month-old son of Charles Lindbergh and his wife was murdered after being abducted from the Lindberghs' home, in East Amwell, NJ. The child's body was discovered by a nearby road on May 12. Two years passed before Bruno Hauptmann was arrested for the crime. What followed was one of the most sensational trails in American history. Hauptmann was ultimately found guilty of first-degree murder and was executed in April 1936. Offered here is a 3.5x4.5" cardstock "Hauptmann Trial Official Pass" dated Jan. 10, 1935. Pass has been filled out in pencil, granting access to woman and party of three by the Sheriff of Hunterdon County, John H. Curtiss. Scattered creases and some edge wear on pass. VF. Comes w/2x3.5" cut signature of Dr. John Condon, a key figure in the Lindbergh baby kidnapping, code named "Jafsie" during the ransom talks w/the kidnapper. Condon served as a witness during the trial. Condon has added "'Jafsie'" code name below his signature. PSA/DNA Authentic and shows just lt. wear. Exc. Interesting pair related to what was referred to as the "Trial Of The Century."
