Item Description
10.75x15.75" artboard has original art by Curt Swan (1920-1996), best known as the artist most associated w/Superman titles during the period fans and historians call the Silver Age of comic books. Swan produced hundreds of covers and stories from the 1950s through the 1980s. Offered here is the original art for page 7 of Superman #294, published by DC Comics in Dec. 1975. Art was inked by Tex Blaisdell (1920-1999). Six panel page is from "The Man Who Slept The World Away" story by Cary Bates and shows Superman confronting Brain Storm, only for Brain Storm's Mental Star-Bolts to knock him through the wall of skyscraper. Of note, first panel shows Brain Storm holding the mangled glasses of Clark Kent (whom his thinks he has killed) while fourth panel features three images of Superman to indicate motion. Superman and Brain Storm each appear in all but one panel. Swan has signed fifth panel in black ink. Top margin has inked title, issue/page numbers as well as publication date. Back has DC copyright inkstamp. Thin strips of tape staining at top/bottom margins. Art remains clean and Exc.
