Item Description
10-5/8x15.75" artboard features original art by Curt Swan (1920-1996), best known as the artist most associated w/Superman titles during the period fans and historians call the Silver Age of comic books. Swan produced hundreds of covers and stories from the 1950s through the 1980s. Offered here is the original art for page 6 of Superman #268, published by DC Comics in Oct. 1973. Art was inked by Bob Oksner (1916-2007). Five panel page is from "Wild Week-End In Washington" story by Elliot Maggin and shows continuation of Clark Kent kidnapping, w/Kent faking unconsciousness after being sprayed w/ether. Kent "wakes up" in the kidnapper's lair and is confronted by "Mr. J." Last panel features Daily Planet newspaper headline covering Kent's disappearance. Kent appears in every panel. Swan has signed third panel in black ink. Top margin has title inkstamp and inked issue/page numbers as well as publication month. Back has DC copyright inkstamp. Thin strips of tape at each margin, only tape at left intrudes into text slightly. Art remains clean and Exc.
