Item Description
10-5/8x16" artboard has original art by Terry Beatty. Offered here is the original art for page 19 of Action Comics #617, published by DC Comics in Sept. 1988. Art was inked by John Nyberg. Five panel page is from Wild Dog story "Fatal Distraction, Chapter Three: Puppy Dog Tale" by Max Allan Collins and shows Wild Dog confronting man who has taken woman hostage, attempting to goad him into a fight only for Wild Pup to arrive and leap into the fray. Wild Pup was a young boy who wanted to become Wild Dog's kid sidekick (the character was introduced two issues prior). Wild Dog and Wild Pup both appear in two panels each (Wild Pup's hands appear in an additional panel). Dialogue text is pasted stats. Beatty has signed bottom margin at right in black ink, Nyberg has signed in pencil at lower left margin. Top margin has inked "Action/Wild Dog" title and issue/page numbers. Back has DC copyright inkstamp. Strips of aged tape at top margin w/clear strip of tape a bottom margin. Art remains clean and Exc.
