Item Description
11.5x16-3/8" artboard has original art by Joe Staton. Offered here is the original art for page 9 of The Adventures Of Batman And Robin #17, published by DC Comics in April 1997. Art was inked by Rick Burchett. Based on the popular animated series The Adventures Of Batman & Robin, five panel page is from "But A Dream" story by Paul Dini and Ty Templeton shows Batman comforting Alice (whom the Mad Hatter was obsessed with) upon the supposed death of the Mad Hatter. This takes place in a wax museum, w/the two surrounded by Batman's rogues gallery - Joker, Riddler, Scarecrow, Penguin, Two-Face and Mad Hatter himself (later pages reveal Mad Hatter is actually alive as two of his goons dressed as Riddler and Two-Face attack). Batman appears in all but one panel. Top margin has inked abbreviated title and issue/page numbers. Back has DC copyright inkstamp. Artboard has some moisture staining along bottom margin (which is more visible on back) and moisture has caused top/bottom layers of artboard to separate at lower left corner, resulting in some rippling and corner tip wear. Fine/VF overall, but art remains clean and could be matted for an Exc. display.
