Item Description
Pair of clothing tags for two very short-lived Mary Marvel clothing lines. Mary Marvel Enterprises, © Fawcett Publications, Inc. 1940s. 7/8x2-5/8" stitched cloth clothing tag reads "An Original Mary Marvel" against lightning bolt design. Knitown Product. Slight fade and scattered trace edge wear, but Fine/VF overall. 3x4" die-cut shield-shaped cardboard tag for "An Original Mary Marvel Creation" by Sherbrooke. Front features same Mary Marvel design as on premium patch (see previous lot) while back has brief character biography text. Some lt. handling wear w/tiny corner tip creases. VF. Both tags are rare and the first we've offered of either in our 57 years. Comes w/double-sided 8.5x10-7/8" order form for "Mary Marvel's Approved New Spring Fashions" which lists/shows handbag, beanie and "The Sissy Shortall" outfit by Millbrook. Back has "Capt. Marvel Club" info w/three pieces of merchandise listed - "Funny Animal Acrobats" and "Funny Animals Coloring Book" w/Hoppy the Marvel Bunny and Captain Marvel lapel charm and keychain.
