Item Description
Pair of Fawcett Publications-related items. Single-sided 7x10" stiff paper Christmas card issued for Christmas 1948, showing Santa Claus in front of newsstand w/actual Fawcett comics - Captain Marvel Adventures #69, Captain Marvel Jr. #57 and Mary Marvel #19 w/titles replaced w/name of Fawcett employees, including editors, writer, inker and other staff members. Card has even moderate aging and has lower right corner tip off w/crease at upper left corner and .5" tear at lower left. Fine overall. Very limited print run, likely distributed to just Fawcett employees and vendors. Rare and first we've seen in our 57 years. Comes w/4.75x6.5" employee handbook is titled "The Fawcett Guide" and cover has "Revised Feb. 1 1948" date. Typical employee handbook contents, but two-page spread to mention all titles published by Fawcett, including magazines and comic books including - "Capt. Marvel Adventures, Capt. Marvel Jr., Gene Autry, Ibis The Invincible, Mary Marvel, Master Comics, The Marvel Family" and "Whiz Comics" among others. Spine has some fading and book shows some handling wear. VF overall.
