Item Description
16.5x22" on paper in a 19x25" frame. Promoting a concert for the eve of the Kentucky Derby at the Louisville Downs on Friday, May 4, 1973. Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show had recently begun riding a wave of success garnered from their hit release "The Cover of 'Rolling Stone'", written by famed children's author, Shel Silverstein who had also written "A Boy Named Sue" for Johnny Cash in 1969. Due to the popularity of the song, the band appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone a little over a month prior to this Derby Eve performance. Also featured were the band REO Speedwagon when they had just two albums under their belt, with their biggest hit at the time being "157 Riverside Avenue". Handling wear and age toning at edges. Horizontal crease at center. VG.
