Item Description
8.5x11" sketch tablet page has black ink original art of Han Solo leaning on the back of a Mon Calamari Navigator's chair and looking out a viewport. Art is by noted comic artist Al Williamson (1931-2010), who had a long career that included work in both comic strips and comic books, specializing in adventure, Western and sci-fi themes. Williamson is perhaps best known for his work w/EC Comics during the 1950s and taking over the Flash Gordon comic strip in the 1960s. Another sci-fi property that benefited from Williamson's touch was Star Wars. Initially the first choice to create a Star Wars comic strip, Williamson created two week's worth of strips, but these were ultimately not used. However, Williamson would go onto illustrate the strip from 1981 until its conclusion in 1984. Art features full body image of both characters, a blaster clearly seen on Solo's hip. Williamson has inscribed art "To Marty - Best Always" along w/his signature. Sheet has some lt. aging/wear and is Exc. overall.
