Item Description
10.5x15.5x1.25” deep box contains complete set by Whitman ©1939. Box lid serves as the front of the stage and has a die-cut window with “stage curtains.” There is a 10x15” cardboard sheet that fits inside the box lid and includes full color background scenes of streets and buildings. On the back of this are assembly instructions plus script for two plays “Pinocchio Learns A Lesson-Pinocchio Makes A Decision.” There are 8 die-cut cardboard puppet figures of Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, Geppetto, Figaro, Honest John, Stromboli, Coachman, Blue Fairy. Size of each character image is 1.5” to 4” tall while attached below are 7” or so long strips which serve as control handles. Most have a very minor crease or two and mainly to the handles rather than the character portions. One of the two background scenes has a tape repair to tab tear. Contents remain bright and clean overall. VF. Nicely designed and Rare. This is the actual example as shown in Tomart's Disneyana Update #43 and comes w/a copy of that issue. From the Tomart Archives and comes w/COA signed by Tom Tumbusch & Ted Hake.
