Item Description
6.75x10-1/8" paper sheet w/copy of cover art for Monsters On The Prowl #12, published by Marvel Aug. 1971. Cover art by Jack Kirby, George Klein, Marie Severin and Artie Simek features Gomdulla, the giant mummy monster and color guide has been neatly hand-colored and applied to illustration board w/cut-out area at bottom right featuring simulated painted text change. Back of board has inked handwritten editorial notations and inked date. Sheet has two spots of surface paper lift at top center w/color touch-ups. Fine overall. Comes w/9x13.5" stiff paper cover containing stapled progressive proofs for the cover as produced by Chemical Color Plate Corp. Cover has "Monsters On Prowl" title, issue number and "Marvel" as "Customer" in red marker. Set of six glossy proofs show the various color splits used to produce the final published cover, as it appears on top sheet. Some scattered age spotting but VF overall.
