Item Description
Lot of four 6.5x9.5” blister cards each containing a hand painted prototype action figure about 2.75” tall plus accessory pieces. In 1983 Hasbro/Aviva planned, but did not bring into production, a line of figures based on the 1982 Jim Henson movie. As pictured on each card back, the line would have included 6 basic figures and 3 larger beasts. Each basic figure was to come with one piece of the crystal which could be assemble by collecting all 6 figures. The 4 figures in this lot are Kira with Fizzgig & crystal piece #1, Slave Pod Peasant w/collar & chain and crystal piece #2, Happy Pod Peasant w/mandolin and crystal piece #3, Jen with base for crystal and crystal piece #6. Each card front features same photo of Jen perched on the crystal. The blister covers have just the slightest trace of age toning. Slave Pod Peasant card has faint bend at center with very light crease on back but this does not show through on the front. All have scattered trace of edge/corner tip wear. All cards still remain bright and clean. Fine/VF. The crystal base has slight age toning to the white plastic otherwise all contents are Mint. The prototype figures themselves are very nicely hand painted and detailed. This is the actual example as shown in Tomart's Action Figure Digest #100 and comes w/a copy of that issue. From the Tomart Archives and comes w/COA signed by Tom Tumbusch & Ted Hake.
