Item Description
Although documented in Hake's 1986 Collectible Pin-Back Buttons book, in the color section, page 162, this is its first (at least in the computer era) appearance in a Hake's Auction. This 1.75" has some age tone on its 1898-1900 W&H back paper and a pencil line. The celluloid has widely scattered small raised bumps to the touch but the only visual age are three very pale tone dots on extreme edge 1-3 o'clock. A few minor, usual, surface scratches in reflected light. However, the cello has great gloss, the colors are un faded and deep, and the macabre design is perfectly centered. Overall VF. One of four known to us and rarely obtainable.
